The short version

• This site sets no cookies and has no forms. If you just read it, I collect nothing from you.
• If you message me on WhatsApp or pay me, I get the details of that chat or payment.
• I don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.

Who is responsible

Schmidt Scales is a sole proprietorship owned by Sebastián Schmidt and registered in Guatemala. I decide what happens to the information I receive, and I'm accountable for it.

What I collect

• When you visit the site: nothing on my end. Vercel, which hosts the site, processes technical connection data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the page. I don't use it to identify you. WhatsApp buttons take you to WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta.
• When you message me on WhatsApp: your phone number, your profile name and whatever you send (text, voice notes, files).
• When you pay: Recurrente, a Guatemalan payment processor, charges your card. I receive the payment confirmation, with details such as your name, email, amount and date. Your card details are handled by Recurrente; I don't receive them.
• For invoices: the name and tax ID you give me.
• When a Guatemalan business hires me for a WhatsApp campaign: the names, phone numbers and last-visit dates of that business's customers, which I handle on the business's behalf.

I don't ask for health, financial account, religious or other sensitive information. If I receive it by accident, I delete it.

How I use it

• To reply to you and provide the service you hired me for.
• To charge you, issue your invoice and keep my books.
• To send service updates and reports.
• To handle complaints and comply with the law.

I don't use it for anything else, and never for third-party advertising.

Who I share it with

Only the service providers I need, and only what each one needs:

• Recurrente, to process payments.
• Meta, through WhatsApp, where our conversations take place.
• Vercel, which hosts this site.
• Anthropic, whose AI, Claude, I use to draft messages and reports. It gets the minimum needed to draft.
• Guatemala's tax authority (SAT), through electronic invoices.
• Government authorities, only when a law or court order requires it.

Each provider also handles data under its own privacy policy.

I don't sell your information

I don't sell or rent personal information, and I don't share it for targeted or cross-context advertising. The only providers that receive it are the ones listed above, to do their job.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There are no Meta, TikTok or Google pixels either. No third party tracks you across other websites from here.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because this site doesn't track you, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals don't change anything here. What they ask for is already the case.

If I ever measure visits, it will be without cookies, and I'll update this notice first.

How I protect it

• Messages and customer lists stay in password-protected accounts.
• On my side, only I have access. If someone ever works with me, they sign a confidentiality agreement before seeing any data.
• If something puts your information at risk, I'll tell you on WhatsApp as soon as I know.

How long I keep it

• Our WhatsApp conversations: while we're working together or discussing a project. After that, I delete them on request.
• A business's customer list: up to 30 days after the service ends.
• Proof that you agreed to a recurring charge: 3 years.
• Invoices and payment records: as long as Guatemalan tax and commercial law requires.

Review, correct or delete your information

You can ask what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Message me on WhatsApp at +502 3499 4652 from the number you used with me.

I'll reply within 3 business days and complete your request within 30 days. Step-by-step instructions are on Delete your data.

Messages, texts and opting out

• I only message you on WhatsApp if you contacted me first or gave me permission.
• I don't send automated marketing texts or messages without your prior express written consent, and agreeing is never a condition of buying.
• Reply STOP, or tell me any other way, and I'll stop no later than the next business day.
• I don't send marketing emails today. If I ever do, each one will identify me, include my postal address and offer a one-click unsubscribe that I honor within 10 business days.

Children

My services are for businesses and adults. This site isn't directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information. If I learn I have, I delete it.

Where your information is stored

I'm based in Guatemala. Some services I use, such as WhatsApp, Vercel and Anthropic, store or process data on servers in the United States and other countries.

Changes to this notice

If I change this notice, I'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change affects information you already gave me, I'll message you first and won't use your information in a new way without your consent.
